Dr. Nasir Raza Khan, Director, LBSCIC,
Dr. Nasir Raza Khan holds a doctoral degree in Architectural History of India from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. He has published research papers on cultural history and architectural conservation in various Journals like, India Quarterly, Islam and The Modern Age and Indian Historical Review. He is Regular contributor to ‘India Prospective’ a magazine published from Ministry of External Affairs. He has widely travelled in Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan to participate in conferences and seminars. He is also working with a major project on Silk Route, sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs Govt. of India. It deals with the importance of the Silk Route for India’s point of view.
His major Field of Specialization is:
- Study of Islamic Architecture in India and its linkages with Central Asia;
- Religion, society and culture in Central Asia;
- Silk Road; pre- and post- modern travel narratives;
- Aspects of Central Asia-India relation;
- Contemporary Central Asia and the World
