Programme for May, 2009
1. Food Festival Arranged by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Saturday, May 2, 2009.
Annually in spring the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan organizes Food Festival, where Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations represent national food items of their countries. Also cultural programmes by Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations are arranged. The best dressed table is judged and the winners get a token prize. Embassy of India and Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre take part in this Function every year. Different kinds of Indian food of different states of India cooked by spouses of Officials of the Embassy and LBSCIC will be represented this year at the Festival.
Venue: House of Receptions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
2. Trip to Bukhara city – May 11, 2009.
It has become a good tradition to go to conduct Seminars and hold Cultural programmes to cities and towns of Uzbekistan. Seminars are very successful and performances by teachers and students of Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture are met by Uzbek people with outstanding enthusiasm and love what can be termed as a sign of close cultural ties of friendship between two great peoples. Seminars have been conducted in many different places of Uzbekistan. The troupe has already performed at Andijan, Ferghana, Bukhara, Karshi and the performances were of great success. Next visit of the representatives of the Embassy of India and troupe of the LBSCIC is being planned to Bukhara on May 11, 2009.

3. Food Festival Arranged by TWIG (Tashkent Women International Group) – Sunday, May 17, 2009.
Every year TWIG organizes Food Festival where Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations represent national food items of their countries for general public. Also cultural programmes by Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations are presented. The best cuisine is judged and the winners get a prize. Embassy of India and Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre take part in TWIG Food Festival every year. The Festival is always colourful and attracts many people.
Venue: Intercontinental Hotel.
Time: from 1100 onwards.
4. Regular activities will be going on as per the schedule:
a. Hindi classes every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday from 16:00 hrs. to 17:30 hrs.
b. Yoga – 3 batches everyday (2 morning & 1 evening), excluding Saturday & Sunday;
c. Kathak dance class – every day, excluding Saturday & Sunday.
d. Tabla class - every Tuesday & Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
5. Saturday, May 30 at 3:30 p.m. – Monthly meeting of Tashkent Reorich Society – Lecture “Creative Works of the Composer A. Skryabin and his Work ‘India of Spirit’”.
