Centre welcomes Smt. Gursharan Kaur and the First Lady of Uzbekistan: 26-4-06
Smt. Gursharan Kaur, spouse of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, visited LBSCIC on April 26,2006. A cultural programme in her honour was organized by the teachers and students of the Centre.
The First Lady of Uzbekistan Mrs. Tatyana Akbarovna Karimova, spouse of the Hon’ble President of Uzbekistan accompanied Smt Gursharan Kaur to grace the programme.
The cultural programme presented glimpses of India’s rich cultural heritage before the august audience. Every item presented by the participants was applauded and appreciated. The two items viz. Ridhun and Tabla Doyra Jugalbandi reflected the richness of the two cultures of India and Uzbekistan and how they can be blended together for displaying some similarities and possible combinations in the presentation of the joint items. Smt Gursharan Kaur in her speech spoke about Global Peace and said that India and Uzbekistan have set an example to the world by being together. Smt. Gursharan Kaur showered praises on the richness of the presentation of the cultural programme by the students and teachers of the LBSCIC and emphasized the good training and lessons imparted by the teachers to the students of the centre.
The cultural programme was a big success and in the history of the LBSCIC, it will remain a memorable event for a long time.
Tea, coffee, cold drinks & snacks were served to the audience after the function was over.
